Bacci a tutti! An All Time Favourite by Rudyard Kipling
IF.....
IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS…
To Mom, Happy 70th Birthday.
Photo Book of “The House”.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS…
(& Yours is Definitely Here)
“THE HOUSE” became a Home the day you moved into it.
With every sketch you drew & every idea you drafted.
Every detail you pursued & every order you gave.
Every nail you hammered & every inch you cleaned.
Every weed you wrenched - & every dollar you spent!
The house you built your dream on, has been for me, the longest lived (almost 20 years). You built it to fit your ever-growing family, and to welcome your many dear friends.
Your dream of peace, love, & a united family are what hold the house together, brick by brick. & although (most unfortunately) that is often not the case - & that dream is broken down to a mere illusion; you can still sense the dream plastered on the walls.
With the appreciated help of your team, Carlos & Donato who helped you build it; & Nora, Juani & Betty who relentless & exhaustively help you keep up with it - & yourself ;-)
Many a friend has been through these doors, and many a times have been spent – in all sorts & forms. There have been tears & chaos, as has there been joy & merriment.
In this book I tried to capture the best moments & the dearest friends - & the wonderful opportunity you have given us for the making of very special memories, most especially for our kids – and the rare chances they get to spend time with eachother. (Although, to keep it a surprise, some people have unfortunately been left out).
And in The House near the Sea, where the salty summer air brings joy of sailors without care,
& the icy winter winds, bring the peace of stormy downpours;
The roar of the waves lulls you to sleep, and the warmth of the sun gets you on your feet.
You are the Captain of This House, let you be - always - an example to your crew.
With Love,
Serena.
QUOTES:
No man but feels more of a man in the world if he have but a bit of ground that he can call his own. However small it is on the surface, it is four thousand miles deep; and that is a very handsome property. ~Charles Dudley Warner
It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.
“May the roof above us never fall in
And may we, good companions beneath, it never fall out.”~Irish Blessing
Just in Case You Might Need This:
"HOUSE RULES”
If you drop it...pick it up.
If you sleep on it...make it up.
If you wear it...hang it up.
If you spill it...wipe it up.
If you empty it...fill it up.
If you turn it on...turn it off.
If you open it...close it.
If it rings...answer it.
If it whines...feed it.
If it cries...love it."
The ornaments of your house will be the guests who frequent it. ~Author Unknown
